Louis Henderson has a dynamic personality with an enthusiasm about life and art.
He was born in Tokyo Japan but was raised in Seattle Washington.
He went to St. Paul's [prep] school in Concord New Hampshire and then graduated with honors in Art from Whitman College.
After a stint as a illustrator for a beer importer, he moved to Los Angeles in 1983, earning a BFA in Illustration at Art Center College of Design.
His successful freelance career started in the movie industry creating posters and advertising art for numerous films such as:
Batman, Total Recall, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, and 101 Dalmatians. Retaining representatives in New York and Chicago,
Lou has received commissions from Ocean Spray, McDonalds, Miller Brewing, Comp USA, Viewsonic, Heinz, Patagonia,
Baxter Healthcare, Omni Magazine, IBM, Coors Brewing, and Ticketmaster. Lou's second career was as a Principle artist in the computer games industry.
He worked on Heroes of Might and Magic and Call of Duty among others.
Strongly traditional, Lou's work holds up under the classical art values of concept, composition and technique.
He has a special talent for capturing a likeness and his work is owned by several celebrities.
Lou's current focus is depicting the color and grace of marine life.
A SCUBA diver, Lou's love of the ocean took him to the Great Barrier Reef. "Painting the coral reef allows me to express the qualities I am pursuing in my art:
beauty and spirit. On the coral reef a harmonious symbiotic environment displays the mindfulness of our universe.".
Lou resides in the Pasadena/Altadena area, with his wife Lisa and their two miniature pinschers: Minnow and Penny.
