Artist's Technique |
I grew up as an artist. At nine years old, unsolicited, I received a 6 piece commission. My parents collected Japanese scrolls and screens. My grandmother had an art gallery in Chicago and owned Picasso, Matisse, Degas, and Toulouse Lautrec prints.
|
| My first hundred paintings were watercolors. |
| During my commercial art career I pursued the realism possible using acrylic paint. |
| I did a series of figurative oil paintings to learn oil techniques. |
| During my computer game career I realized I could make my own 3d models and pose them in the computer. This allowed me complete control over the lighting and composition. |
| I then render an image as a visual reference for my painting - from any angle I choose. |
Finally I create a traditional painting. |
